How to Generate Square wave Signal from Digital multimeter

  • A square wave is a non-sinusoidal periodic waveform in which the amplitude alternates at a steady frequency between fixed minimum and maximum values, with the same duration at minimum and maximum. Square waves are universally encountered in digital switching circuits and are naturally generated by binary (two-level) logic devices. They are used as timing references or "clock signals", because their fast transitions are suitable for triggering synchronous logic circuits at precisely determined intervals.

Procedure to Generate Square Wave Signal:

Required parts: Digital multimeter, Soundcard oscilloscope, Laptop or PC
Step1: first connect the all connection properly like this below image
Step2: Now, rotate the multimeter knob and select square wave mode.
Step3: then you will see the real time signal from digital multimeter using Laptop or PC with soundcard oscilloscope.
